Baltimore Business Journal: J.S. Edwards Goes Eastward
J.S. Edwards Ltd., the Pikesville men’s clothier, has opened a temporary second location in Harbor East on the first floor of Legg Mason’s new headquarters building.
“Pop-up stores” are a hot trend in retail, in which merchants like Target and Nike have opened stores in city neighborhoods for a limited run, usually during the Christmas shopping season. In J.S. Edwards’ case, the limited run is for about two this summer, running through the end of August.
Owner Ed Steinberg wanted to see what business was like during the Inner Harbor’s busy summer tourist season.
Steinberg said business has been good, and he is considering adding a permanent location in Harbor East to go with J.S. Edwards’ flagship store in the Festival at Woodholme shopping center.
