Both the Baltimore Business Journal and Baltimore CityBizList recently published articles concerning green industrial recycling business Chesapeake Compost Works Benefit, LLC,’s lease of a 54,000-square-foot space at 4501 Curtis Ave. in Baltimore.

The facility, which will be used to produce and sell compost, will open in October following minor tenant improvements, including the installation of a new aeration system used to eliminate composting odors. In addition the plant will create approximately 10 new jobs during it’s first year of business.

Steven L. Cornblatt, principal at Trout Daniel & Associates, represented Chesapeake Compost Works in the transaction. Toby Mink of BTR Curtis LLC represented the landlord.
