Gilbert R. Trout
Gilbert R. Trout is director of investment real estate at Trout Daniel & Associates. He is also vice president of Trout Management.
Gilbert focuses his practice on the acquisition, disposition and funding of investment-grade commercial real estate along the Mid-Atlantic states. Gilbert’s clients include a global pool of high net-worth investors, family entities, syndicates, funds, and REITs.
Gilbert has negotiated sales of anchored retail centers, office portfolios and complex development projects. Specialties include assisting owners with disposition of lease-challenged properties, properties in need of re-development, 1031 opportunities, and off-market acquisitions.
Gilbert has extensive experience with development of digital technologies, data analytics and data-mining and has held technology positions at Harvard University, at Perot Systems and Houghton Mifflin. This unique skill set, when combined with his deep industry and political relationships, is invaluable when accessing latent opportunities that are invisible on the conventional real estate radar.
Gilbert is also a professional-level classical musician and has conducted orchestras worldwide, and received commissions, awards, scholarships and performances of his music in America, Europe and Asia. Gilbert was a visiting lecturer in music at Tufts University, and has performed numerous world premiers of contemporary music.
Gilbert received his Bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and Master’s Degree from Tufts University. Gilbert speaks multiple languages, such as French, German and some modern Greek.
Gilbert is a member of Stevenson University’s President’s Advisory Committee, is involved with CHAI (Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc.), the Associated Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore and is a board member of Congregation Shearith Israel.
