Nancy E. Catron, CCIM, SCLS, is Senior Associate at Trout Daniel & Associates, LLC (TDA).
Prior to joining TDA in the summer of 2016, Nancy has been involved in many facets of retail, shopping center, and non-residential real estate.
Nancy worked for Oakbrook, IL based McDonald’s USA, as Area Real Estate Manager in portions of Maryland, District of Columbia, Virginia, Delaware, and West Virginia where she was responsible for developing, creating, and analyzing new restaurant opportunities as well as the existing portfolio of restaurants to meet the company’s long term strategies. During this time she was the recipient of the Innovative Development East Division Award (2014), Outstanding Rebuild East Division Award (2014), and Real Estate East Division Award (2013). Prior to her role as Area Real Estate Manager, she was Regional Property Manager with bi-region responsibility for protecting and defending McDonald’s real property rights for both operating restaurants and real estate for future development. She successfully negotiated condemnations in multiple states involving local, state, and federal compensation. In addition, she protected McDonald’s rights on shared locations with oil partners as well as defending easement property rights. She was named Property Manager of the Year (2011).
Nancy was employed at Community Management Corporation as General Manager of a 185 unit high rise affluent condominium complex in DC during its transition from developer controlled association to association controlled project. She renegotiated vendor contracts and service agreements saving over $100k, restructured operations, policies and procedures and was able to provide for $150k in reserves while maintaining the current condominium fee.
Nancy’s tenure at Clear Channel Outdoor as Vice President Real Estate & Public Affairs included operating a multi-million dollar department at 8% under expense while increasing revenues. She also extended the asset control periods and was instrumental in completing the division’s first real estate acquisition in five years.
Nancy founded and ran a boutique retail real estate brokerage firm for 17 years which specialized in new development projects, sales and leasing for retail shopping centers and retailers in the Maryland, District of Columbia, and Virginia area. Some of the retailer clients were Rite Aid Corporation, McDonald’s, Checkers Drive Thru Restaurants, Mail Boxes Etc. (now The UPS Store), Avis/Budget Rent A Car, Variety Wholesalers, Bojangles Restaurants, and Aaron Rents. In the last five years of operation she generated over $95 million in transactions.
Nancy earned her bachelors in business administration from Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania. She also holds the CCIM (National Association of Realtors Commercial & Industrial) and SCLS (International Council of Shopping Centers) designations.
Nancy currently does volunteer work for the Annapolis Maritime Museum, the Thomas Point Shoal Light House, and also the Nathan (a goodwill ambassador for skipjacks and oyster dredging). In addition, she is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
