McGinnis Green will Feature a New Prototype Walmart Supercenter Along with 20,000+ Square Feet of Retail Space

Cheswold, Delaware - Construction began in December 2009 on McGinnis Green Retail Center in Cheswold, Delaware. The new retail center will include a Walmart Supercenter and 20,000 square feet of complimentary retail space along with two retail outparcel tenants.
McGinnis Green is located on the east side of U.S. 13 just south of Simms Woods Road, north of Dover, Delaware.
“This project will be very advantageous for Kent County and residents of Central Delaware,” said Commissioner P. Brooks Banta, President of the Kent County Levy Court. “The center will bring a new level of shopping convenience and provide further economic development for the area.”
Ongoing development services for the project are being provided by Trout Development, Louis A. DiBitonto, Development Principal. Initial site development was coordinated by Cheswold Village Properties, LLC.

Trout Daniel & Associates is handling all leasing for the retail center and is working with their network of national and local retailers to attract quality tenants to McGinnis Green.
Trout Management will handle day-to-day operations at McGinnis Green, including general maintenance and security.

The construction of McGinnis Green is an anticipated boom for local contractors, with over 150 new jobs expected to be created during the development process. The new Walmart and accompanying retail space is expected to bolster the local economy even further, creating dozens of new jobs.

The Walmart Supercenter at McGinnis Green will offer the latest in the chain's design, product assortment and shopping advancements. The Cheswold Walmart is one of a handful of prototype Supercenters, which are the template for new locations that will open throughout the country.
Development Projects Adheres to Strict Environmental Standards
The companies responsible for developing McGinnis Green ensured the project was environmentally sensitive and met all of the high standards of the Kent County Planning Commission. Development principals met and consulted with the Planning Commission and the community on a regular basis to make certain the project met state and county regulations.
