New Location of Legendary Pikesville Deli Set to Open in Mid-July

Trout Daniel & Associates Represented Suburban House in Securing New Location

Suburban House Restaurant will reopen their new location in Pomona Square at 1700 Reisterstown Road, replacing Fuddruckers.  The new Suburban House Restaurant is slated to reopen in mid-July 2010. The legendary Pikesville deli’s original location in the 900 block of Reisterstown Road was closed due to a fire at the property.

Suburban House owners Mark Horowitz and Joe Stowe look forward to carrying on the restaurant’s six decade tradition of excellence.

“We have promised our loyal patrons we would be coming back soon – bigger and better,” said Stowe.  “We are confident the new Suburban House will live up to those promises, offering all the old favorites on the menu as well as a few new surprises.  We thank everyone for their thoughts and support during the past year and look forward to seeing everyone at the new “S&H”.

Suburban House has been a Pikesville landmark for generations. Founded more than 65 years ago, the restaurant is best known for its “folksy” atmosphere and tasty cuisine, including matzoh ball soup, lean corned beef, signature sandwiches and hearty breakfasts.

Suburban House management has been discussing employment opportunities with non-management employees of Fuddruckers.

Pomona Square is a 78,000-square-foot multi-tenant retail and office complex in the heart of the Reisterstown Road corridor within close proximity to I-695. Notable tenants include Advanced Radiology, Si Salsa Restaurant, Kumon Learning Center and Weight Watchers. Directly adjacent to the shopping center is Pomona Apartments, a 430-unit gated apartment community.

Steven L. Cornblatt, a Principal of Trout Daniel & Associates and Matthew S. Melnick, an Associate with the firm exclusively represented Suburban House Restaurant in securing the 6,440 square foot space at Pomona Square.  Susan Sugar Nathan, a Principal of Pomona Square LLP represented the property in the negotiations.

“This new location offers Suburban House outstanding parking, accessibility and street exposure,” said Cornblatt.  “The new Suburban House will also be directly adjacent to the 430-unit Pomona Apartments.  This will afford residents the opportunity to walk or make a short drive to the restaurant.”

“The site also provides a more efficient restaurant layout, including a significantly larger kitchen, which will allow S&H to expand its already well established off premise catering business,” added Cornblatt.
